County Down
County Down is in the north east of Ireland and is one of the six counties that are politically part of the United Kingdom. In the south of the county are the famous Mountains of Mourne, rugged and beautiful granite mountains with Slieve Donard rising to 2,500 ft.
Royal County Down is a favourite golf course on golf holiday itineraries and lays claim to possibly the finest outward nines in the world. Ardglass golf course is also well worth a visit and features many holes where the Irish Sea forms a spectacular backdrop as well as a pretty large water hazard.
