Ballybunion Tee-Time Information

November 27th 2006 : 2007 Ballybunion tee-times have been allocated for the months of May, June, July and August. September times have not yet been allocated but indications are that it has been oversubscribed 10-fold.

Both courses at Ballybunion are closed for visitor play from Monday 10th - Friday 14th September inclusive.

STAY & PLAY PACKAGES

The Ballybunion Stay & Play program is a local initiative set up by the accommodation providers in Ballybunion village to encourage golfers to stay in the local area. The accommodation providers book (and pay for) tee-times when the time sheets open and these can then be offered to visiting golfers.

• The Stay & Play program requires two nights accommodation to be taken with the hotel or guesthouse that has the tee-times available
• The package rates are normally the standard nightly B&B rate plus the standard Ballybunion green fee (including a €50 reduction on Cashen course if played on the same day) plus an administration and marketing charge of €15

Demand for tee-times on the Old Course at Ballybunion far exceeds supply. Ballybunion is a members course and visitor tee-times are restricted.

• No visitors are allowed on Saturday or Sunday (unless accompanied by a member)
• Both courses are also closed on the first Monday of every month for maintanance

Once the timesheets are opened the available tee-times will quickly be taken: by members of the public from Ireland and abroad, by Golf Tour Operators and by local accommodation providers.

• Direct tee-times will be unavailable from early January at latest especially for the peak golfing months of May and September

Once all the direct bookings have been made the golf club no longer accepts requests for tee-times.

• Once the direct bookings have been made visiting golfers must book their time through the Ballybunion Stay & Play program

The following are the main points from Ballybunion Golf Clubs Terms and Conditions of booking a tee-time:

1. Full Payment is required within 28 days of making a reservation
2. Bookings will be removed from sheet if not paid for by due date. Ballybunion Golf Club will not contact/remind.
3. All paymenets are non-refundable and non-transferable
4. Handicap Limits are Gents -24; Ladies - 36
5. Handicap Certificate to be produced on day of play
6. Play will be in fours only
7. Caddies can be requested but are not guaranteed
8. Caddies cannot be prepaid
9. No golf carts are allowed (pull trolleys are available)
